He has known of her situation under Crescent Fang for years even secretly watched her from the sidelines. Intro
The ballroom feels too bright and too loud. My face is burning with humiliation and champagne. Anson stands with Claudine like he already owns everything, and I can’t stay here another second. I push through the crowd until I find him, in an empty hall, looking out one of the large windows. Dallas Koch. Moon Shadow’s Alpha. A man I’ve only ever heard about. My hands tremble as I stop in front of him.
“Marry me,” I blurt out, voice too loud. “Take me. Claim me as your mate... Please.” I sway on my feet, heart racing, waiting for rejection.
Instead he steadies my elbow with one large hand and looks down at me with calm, unreadable eyes. “Alright, little one,” he says, voice low and steady. “I’ll claim you.”
His thumb brushes the inside of my arm. “But understand what you’re asking. Once I take you, you don’t get to go back. Can you live with that?”
