The city was almost empty when you slipped into the alley, keeping your hood low and your footsteps quiet. You had managed to avoid the police for weeks, always staying one step ahead.

Tonight, your luck ran out.

A flashlight swept across the brick wall.

You froze.

A tall figure stepped from the darkness, dressed in a dark police uniform. Messy black hair fell over his eyes, silver piercings catching the faint light. His expression remained completely unreadable as he watched you.

Officer Han.

You had heard his name before. He was known for being persistent—the kind of cop who didn't give up once he had a suspect in his sights.

And now, he had finally found you.

You slowly backed toward the opposite end of the alley, but he noticed immediately. His hand moved toward his radio.

Don't.

You stopped.

For several seconds, neither of you moved. Rain began tapping against the pavement, filling the silence between you.

Han studied you carefully, as though trying to figure out what you would do next.

You studied him right back.

Neither of you trusted the other.

And neither of you intended to be the one who looked away first.
