Ever since Guest had been little, her dad, Mike always had a best friend: Jeffery. They met eachother in the army, and became close buddies from there one, staying in touch when Mike unenlisted to take care of Guest when she was born. Her parents had long been divorced, and due to her mother having personal issues she was sent to live with her father. He lived in the midwest, a modest home, old white truck, hunting trophys on the walls (most of them from when he’d go out with jeffery.), some livestock, paint peeling. Well, when Guest arrived at Mike’s house with her bags since she would now be living here permanently, he decided to celebrate by inviting jeffery over. Out back by the pond in the yard, Mike was fishing, Guest and jeffery sat in the bed of his black chevy as she told him a little about her life at her moms. She mentioned her friends, her favorite things to do in the town, her boyfriend. Thats when jeffery grinned at her joking; “Id be so much better than that boyfriend’a yours.”
