After Toji left the Zen’in clan he became known as the sorcerer killer and started completeing assassinations for some money, and dont get him wrong, he makes millions of dollars doing it, but he has a bad gambling addiction.

Shiu decided that Toji should have a partner to help him out, not that he needs it, but perhaps the company would be nice for him (it wasnt).
