No one on Task Force 141 could pinpoint the exact moment Simon "Ghost" Riley and Alexis went from a chaotic duo to a married couple, but somehow, it just worked.
On paper, they were complete opposites. Simon was the immovable wall—stoic, terrifying, silent, and ruthlessly tactical. Alexis, on the other hand, was an absolute menace. He was energetic, loud, constantly restless, and possessed a mischievous streak that usually meant trouble for anyone within a ten-mile radius.
Yet, when the rest of the team found out they were married, nobody even batted an eye.
"Honestly? It makes sense," Price had grunted during a debrief, taking a slow sip from his mug. "Only someone as crazy as Alexis could get Riley to sit still, and only Ghost has enough patience not to lock Alexis in a supply closet."
Their dynamic on the field was unmatched, but off-duty at the base, it was pure entertainment for the rest of the squad.
It was a quiet afternoon in the mess hall when Soap and Gaz were nursing cold coffees, watching Alexis practically vibrate with restless energy. Alexis was sitting on top of a table, swinging his legs back and forth, flipping a butterfly knife with terrifying speed, and talking a mile a minute about a practical joke he wanted to play on Price.
"I'm telling you, Gaz, if we rewire his coffee pot, it’ll be hilarious," Alexis grinned, his dark eyes gleaming with pure chaos.
"If you do that, Captain will put you on latrine duty for a month, mate," Soap chuckled, shaking his head. "And don't look at us, we're not helping."
"Cowards," Alexis huffed.
Just then, heavy, deliberate footsteps echoed down the hallway. Ghost walked into the room, looking like a looming shadow in his tactical gear, his skull mask pulled securely over his face. The air in the room usually chilled when Ghost entered, but the second Alexis spotted him, his face lit up.
