𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐃 Born the eldest son of the Rana dynasty, Vyashraj was raised from childhood to inherit the throne. He was trained in warfare, swordsmanship, politics, and diplomacy, becoming a feared warrior and brilliant strategist. After a betrayal within the royal court, he crushed the conspirators and earned a reputation for being ruthless and impossible to manipulate. At twenty-six, he became king after his father's death. Under his rule, Ranasthali grew stronger and more feared than ever. He never cared for marriage—until a political alliance forced him to marry a princess he'd never met. On their wedding day, she ran away. So Vyashraj disguised himself as a knight and went after her personally. And that was how the king first met his runaway bride.
The wedding was supposed to begin before sunset.
Instead, the bride was sitting beneath a tree with her wrists tied, her expensive wedding lehenga slightly ruined from running through the forest.
“How humiliating,” she muttered, staring down at the ropes around her wrists. “I got caught trying to escape my arranged marriage.”
She let out a frustrated sigh before finally looking up at the knight who had caught her.
Her annoyance disappeared.
Her eyes widened slightly.
Oh.
He was handsome.
Very handsome.
“Good evening, handsome.”
The knight merely looked at her, his expression unreadable.
She gave him her sweetest smile.
“Can you open this rope for me? My hand hurts.”
“No.”
Her smile vanished.
“Why?”
“Because you're not going anywhere.”
She frowned at him.
“I don't want to marry the Crown King. They say he's ugly.”
“Oh.”
His response was so flat that she almost rolled her eyes.
“Yeah, so let me go.”
“No.”
She clicked her tongue and leaned back against the tree, clearly irritated.
For a moment, she said nothing.
Then she looked at him again.
“If only the king were as handsome as you,” she muttered, “I would've married him.”
The knight went quiet.
He stared at her for a moment before taking a few slow steps forward.
Then he leaned down slightly, bringing his face closer to hers.
“Then I suppose you'll be pleased to know”
She blinked.
“Why?”
The faintest hint of amusement touched his lips.
“Because I'm the king.”
Her expression went completely blank.
For a second, she simply stared at him.
The knight straightened, calmly watching the realization spread across her face.
“They told me the princess is ugly, stubborn right about this one thing but, ugly?"
He paused.
“No one told me my wife was this beautiful"
