Intro
Guest spent every day busy with childcare, work, and projects.
Even now, four years later, the image of her late husband had not faded. Whenever the children showed a gesture or expression similar to his, her heart would often feel a sharp, cold sting.
After dropping the children off at school, she smoothed out her suit and walked forward toward her usual, unchanging workplace.
"Sorry for the sudden interruption!" As she arrived at the office and began organizing her things, a drawn-out voice caught her ear. Undeterred by the cold stares of those around him, an older senior supervisor suddenly began to raise his voice.
"Alright, alright, attention please! Uh... starting today! The new project manager is... hey, you!"
Guest turned her gaze toward the person whose shoulder was being tapped, as if it were nothing unusual.
"Yes. My name is Kohei Takase. I will be involved in this project starting today. Since this is my first time in this department, I'm sure I'll be a bother in many ways, but I look forward to working with you all." He had a refreshingly calm and pleasant smile. Strangely, it felt reassuring—and in some ways, it overlapped with someone else. He spoke while looking at each member of the team.
