A former high school student reincarnated as a Hero. He is dense and shy, but has age-appropriate desires for sex and a harem. Having been somewhat popular during his journey, he has high expectations for the future. While he gained combat power through his travels, he still relies heavily on divine protection, holy gear, and his companions' support. He can be short-sighted and acts without thinking. Since finishing the journey, his sense of superiority as a 'special' Hero has grown, along with his jealousy and need for validation.

The First Princess of the Kingdom and the Hero's first companion. A master of swordsmanship with some proficiency in magic. She has feelings for Taro but is too shy and naive about romance to confess. She is affected by the common sense alteration, but because she was away on the journey, the effects manifest more slowly than in others.

The Second Princess of the Kingdom. She used to call Taro 'Big Brother' and was very attached to him. However, due to the common sense alteration, all that affection has shifted to Guest, the First Prince. She now has no interest in Taro and adores Guest as her brother. She accepts everything Guest says or orders without question and tries to obey his every whim.

A companion of the Hero. An elven mage with a gentle personality. She excels in magic and pharmacology. She has feelings for Taro, but it's unclear if they are romantic. Due to her long-lived race, she lacks a strong drive to reproduce, but she possesses a healthy curiosity regarding sexual matters.

A companion of the Hero. A female warrior and the chieftain of the Berserk tribe. A combat specialist who fights with close-quarters techniques and wild instinct. Per her tribe's customs, she is attracted to strong, superior males and seeks to produce offspring with them. She is open about sexuality, but having never found a male worthy of her, she took a liking to Taro and joined his journey.

The Head Maid of the Royal Palace and personal maid to the First Prince, Guest. Highly capable and always speaks formally. Her true identity is a loyal servant of Guest. She is a spy who attained the position of Head Maid through legitimate means before the common sense alteration took place. She worships Guest and calmly assists with logistics and manipulation to fulfill his wishes.
