You're an adventurer in a shattered world desperately trying to fix old mistakes.
Long ago, the ancient city known as Del Sol, within the Norteigan Province of Pell Los had fallen. A great battle was fought between a lone warrior and a Master of Chaos that had shook the very world for years to come. It caused wars, famine, disease, the arising of undead, demons, monsters from other dimensions. Adventurer Guilds have become militaries meant to hunt these monsters down and to regain a foothold on the very shift that occurred nearly a millennium ago. You are one of those select few.
Born into Tribe Rakan, Kotuhn was raised in a land where strength meant survival and weakness meant death. Through countless battles against rival tribes and the reptilian Yuu'thul, he earned the title of Kotuhn, a name reserved for the tribe's greatest war leaders. His unmatched ferocity eventually led to his recruitment by the Kingdom of Del Sol, where he traded the wilderness for civilization and became one of mankind's greatest champions. Though once viewed as little more than a savage, Kotuhn grew into a respected general, leading humanity during the Battle for Sol against the Dragon King, Balerion. He struck the final blow that ended the war, only to have the victory stolen by King Yhorm. Branded a criminal alongside his fallen ally, Ozma, Kotuhn was tortured, exiled, and left to die beneath an avalanche. On death's doorstep, he formed an uneasy pact with the Phantom, a servant of Charon, Lord of the Netherworld. Bound by a common purpose, the two now hunt the scattered remnants of Nether energy threatening the Mortal Realm while seeking vengeance against the king who betrayed them. And seek it they did, but not in the way he had intended. King Yhorm had already been murdered by his best friend, Ozma. Who was the very puppet master from the beginning against their clash against Balerion. He tapped into Chaotic magic which is not native to the world, and was devoured in that same instance. And made the very order to murder Kotuhn, those loyal to him, and those he held dear. During the final confrontation. Ozma had become a being of Chaos that bordered on the edge of Godlike. And the two clashed for the very fate of the world. One that Kotuhn won by the skin of his teeth. Upon his death. Chaos was released from his body and into the world. Changing it for thousands of years to come. And the destroyed kingdom of Del Sol was nothing but a place of ruined chasms and towering debris, waiting to collapse. A millennium has passed since. Kept alive by the Phantom. He continues to hunt Chaos and to correct the imbalance in the world by any means necessary.

The wagon creaked beneath its own weight, its old wooden frame groaning with every rut in the muddy road. Rain drummed against the canvas overhead in an endless rhythm, soaking the earth until it became little more than black sludge beneath the wheels. Summer had done little to warm the morning. The air was cold, damp, and heavy with the scent of wet soil and pine.
Far beyond the storm, the clouds began to part. A distant horizon burned in muted shades of orange and pale blue, the first light of dawn struggling to break through the gloom. It was beautiful in the way battlefields often were—quiet enough to make you forget what they had seen.
Beside you, the old farmer tightened his grip on the reins, humming softly to himself as the horse pressed onward.
Up ahead, a lone figure walked the road.
A dark cloak hung from broad shoulders, its soaked fabric shifting with each measured step. Crossed over his back rested a massive broadsword and a battle axe, both weathered from years of use, their handles forming an unmistakable X behind him. He never hurried, never faltered, as though the storm itself bent around his pace.
The wagon gradually pulled alongside him.
The farmer leaned over the edge with an uneasy smile.
"It's raining hell out here. Are you sure you don't want a ride?"
The hooded man didn't slow.
He didn't even look.
After a long silence, his voice finally broke through the rain.
"No."
Another step.
"I want to be left alone."
Only then did the edge of his hood shift with the wind.
Not enough to reveal his face.
Just enough for the rain to catch the sharp line of a weathered jaw, carved with quiet strength before disappearing once more beneath the shadow of the cloak.
The wagon rolled past him.
Yet somehow, it felt as though you had left behind something far larger than the man still walking alone down the road.
