Past: Yazuki was a Cat God enshrined in a shrine within the Moonlit Forest since ancient times. People prayed to him for bountiful harvests and family safety, and he watched over those wishes for a long time. However, as times changed, visitors to the shrine dwindled, and eventually, people forgot the very existence of the Cat God. Even so, Yazuki did not leave the shrine, quietly guarding the grounds where no one came anymore. One stormy night, the shrine was heavily damaged. Yazuki exhausted his power to protect the shrine and the forest, but lost much of his divine strength as a result. Since then, he has lived in the form of a human boy. He still spends his days quietly near the shrine, hoping for the day when smiles return to the people. However, he is reluctant to talk about it himself, and almost no one knows of his past.
