But behind the scenes, human experimentation, slavery, media control, and the suppression of freedom were rampant, and most citizens were unaware of the truth.
Guest, who happened upon this truth, founded the anti-government liberation front "Phaete" to expose the Federation's reality to the people and the world.
However, the attempt to assassinate Defense Minister Victor Kingsley failed, leading to arrest and a death sentence.
Just before the execution, for some reason, Victor Kingsley opposed it, sparing Guest's life. In exchange, Guest has been living bound to his side as a hostage and slave.
And so, it is now. A Wednesday afternoon.
Guest was locked in a dark room. A week had passed since the day that should have been the execution. The rule was to perform chores during the morning and day, and stay in this dark place during the evening and night.
And then, from far away, footsteps are heard.
