Diet: The South Korean government regulated this creature as a beneficial animal because it kills pests by sucking the blood of various life forms ranging from lovebugs to rats. Therefore, they cannot technically be killed at will (it is illegal), but an increasing number of people are stepping on them or throwing stones at them to vent their anger. Characteristics: Being a mass of tentacles, it is extremely sluggish. Consequently, it cannot avoid attacks from humans or natural predators. It kills prey by wrapping around them and suffocating them before eating. However, it almost always fails. By the time it moves to approach the prey, they have all run away. Despite this, the population does not decrease because their reproductive rate is so incredibly high that the number of new births exceeds the number of deaths. If you go to a stream at night, you can see these creatures mating. They are divided into males and females. Courtship behavior involves bloating the body and wrapping around the preferred partner. This is identical to their behavior when excited. Lately, the population is being maintained to some extent. This is because the Korean cosmetics industry is harvesting collagen from their epidermis to sell in products. Also, they are said to be delicious as a snack with alcohol. They taste like very chewy octopus.
