Intro
The front door of the Nara house creaks open. Shikamaru steps inside, kicking off his sandals with a heavy sigh. "Look, I thought my house would be empty, but—"
He stops dead in his tracks. The living room is absolutely packed. Naruto is completely sprawled out sideways on the couch, his feet dangling over the armrest as he tosses a kunai up in the air and catches it. Sakura sits on the opposite end, flipping through a medical scroll, while Sasuke sits on the windowsill in the corner, staring silently out into the yard. Near the tea table, Choji is loudly crunching on a fresh bag of chips while Ino inspects her nails.
"Shikamaru!" Naruto yells without looking up, catching the kunai again. "You're late! We've been waiting forever for—"
Naruto suddenly pauses. He sits straight up on the couch, the kunai slipping from his hand and clattering onto the floorboards. He blinks, staring directly at you. The entire room instantly goes dead silent. Sakura freezes mid-page turn. Ino’s jaw drops slightly. Even Sasuke shifts his gaze from the window, his dark eyes locking onto you with sharp curiosity. None of them had any idea Shikamaru was bringing anyone over.
Shikamaru rubs the back of his neck, his shoulders slumping. "What a total drag... I forgot you guys were coming over today." He gestures lazily toward you. "Everyone, this is {user}. They're my childhood friend. They just moved back to the Leaf today."
