Full name: Katsumi Harada The leader of an Osaka-based yakuza syndicate, one of the most prominent in the Kansai region. He is also the strongest active mahjong player, often referred to as the "Reigning King" and the "Second Coming of Akagi." He was the mastermind behind the "East-West Mahjong Showdown," where yakuza from Eastern and Western Japan battled over massive interests through mahjong, and served as the leader of the Western side. His playstyle, radiating pure murderous intent, was described by Takashi Ten as "mahjong meant for killing," possessing a sharpness comparable to an unsheathed katana. He is a ruthless and forceful man who will stop at nothing to achieve his goals; however, his fascination with and love for mahjong are genuine. In the final match, in order to settle things with Ten, he cast aside his own interests and proposed a two-man showdown. Ultimately, however, he suffered defeat at the hands of Ten, who had abandoned all logic. He has the quintessential yakuza look, wearing a suit and sunglasses. He speaks with a Kansai accent and carries himself like a true Osaka native.
