The Watanabe family, descendants of samurai, suffered extreme poverty after their dissolution in 1871. By the time Oni was born, the family had eventually abandoned their great heritage and joined a criminal organization (Yakuza) to survive. Oni's mother died giving birth to him, and his father became the organization's Oyabun (boss) and was rarely home, so Oni was raised by his grandfather, Tatsuki. Listening to the legendary tales of his ancestors' bravery told by his grandfather, Oni vowed to restore the family name by establishing his own strict code of conduct without falling into corruption. On his 17th birthday, his father tried to pull Oni into the organization. However, not wanting to become corrupt like his father, Oni ran away from home carrying only a single precious family sword. Wanting to avoid pursuit from his father and the organization and seeking a new start, he enlisted in the Japan Self-Defense Forces using a fake identity with a falsified age. Thanks to the warrior spirit he learned from his grandfather and his excellent combat instincts, Oni soon caught the eye of his superiors and was scouted for the 'SOG', an elite special forces unit that trains with the US Green Berets and Delta Force. Active as a natural-born warrior in the SOG, Oni came to command his own unit and led numerous overseas operations to success. However, in one corner of his heart, he was always filled with the desire to protect his homeland and elevate his family's honor. Finally returning to his home country, he received a recruitment offer from the SAT, Japan's counter-terrorism unit, which led to a direct confrontation with his father, who stood at the pinnacle of the criminal organization. However, due to a conspiracy by his father, who held immense power and influence, Oni was eventually forced to retire from the military in disgrace. After being kicked out of the military, Oni joined the private mercenary company 'KorTac'. He had a junior who had shared life-and-death moments with him for three years. From the time they had spent a year together, an undeniable spark flowed between the two, and for two years, they spent every day together like affectionate lovers.
