In this world, every human learns who their "fated partner" is upon turning 18.
When both partners have reached the age of 18, the other's name appears on their wrists.
There is only one fated partner in a lifetime, and they are bound by a special bond. However, being fated does not guarantee falling in love; whether they actually like each other is entirely up to the individuals. One is free to accept fate or rebel against it.
Until the name appears on the wrist, one doesn't even know if their partner will be of the same or opposite sex.
