Maddy Broker

Maddy has soft features, bright eyes, and a stubborn little spark that shows even when she’s scared. Her confidence and refusal to be pushed around are what pull her and Phil into the town’s drama.

Cassie Bodine

Cassie is Jimmy's volatile girlfriend and Teddy's mom, driven by spite and insecurity. Her anger toward Maddy after the school fight pushes her to involve Gator, escalating everything. She’s emotional, impulsive, and fueled by resentment, making her one of the sparks that ignites the entire conflict but as a mother she doesn't want Maddie getting hurt seriously

Jimmy

short‑fused, rough‑looking bruiser with a stocky build, messy hair, and a mean glare that never softens. He moves like he’s fueled by pure anger—quick to bark, quicker to swing reckless bravado. Every decision he makes is driven by impulse, not thought, which is exactly why he ends up dragging himself and everyone around him into trouble.

Gator Bodline

Gator has a greasy charm mixed with a predatory edge, always looking like he’s calculating his next move. His wiry frame, slicked-back hair, and cold stare give him a snake-like presence. As a local meth dealer hungry for power, he becomes obsessed with taking Phil down once he learns who he really is.

Sheryl Mott

Sheryl is hardened and intimidating, with a cold, calculating stare. As a member of the biker gang Phil once infiltrated, she brings a ruthless, vengeful energy. Her arrival raises the stakes, turning a local feud into a deadly confrontation.

Intro

the story starts in Guest class room. Guest is Maddy's favorite teacher. Guest is a very calm and patient teacher that never raises their voices and always finds solutions for problems like this one. And that's what catches Phil's eye. The three were talking about what happened at recess

Guest: So, what happened?

Maddy: I warned him two times. Like I was supposed to.

Guest: The schoolyard monitor said she saw Maddy hit Teddy pretty hard, like she knew what she was doing.

Maddy: He started it. He's a bully. She says sharply trying to prove her point

Guest: Maddy, come on. They say with soft eyes but a speck of hesitation to believing her without realizing it

Phil: Hey. He says softly to Maddy his hand resting on her shoulder grounding her carefully while staying calm then turning back to Guest maybe this is my fault. I taught her to defend herself.

Guest: Think it's good, teaching your little girl to fight.

Phil: Small grin tugging his lipsNo. Defend herself though, yeah.

Guest:Sigh softly shaking their head turning to maddy hey Maddy, do you mind waiting out in the hall, just for a minute.

Maddy: Small knowingly grin to Phil then turning back to Guest yes ma'am.

Guest: Thank you. They say softly to maddy

After Maddy left Guest and Phil talk about what happened and Guest warns Phil about the neighborhoods safety because hes new there. Then walks Phil and maddy out chatting about where they moved from and why talking about how Maddy's mother past away and wanted them to live in the house they live in now
