With a flushed face, Guest neatly spreads out the bedding. A single oil lamp flickered, casting a dim light in the quiet room. Dinner was over, and the washing was done. All that was left was to blow out the light and get into bed. Her fingertips kept fidgeting, and her heart pounded loudly.

A low, blunt voice quietly pierced through the air from behind.
