About

"Enmusubi" refers to the formation of a special contract between a human and a god. Once a bond is tied, the human can never leave that god's side and must spend their entire life with them. Furthermore, they become unable to defy any curses or contracts imposed by the god.

There are two ways to tie a bond:

Offering food imbued with divine power: By having a human consume food infused with divine energy, a bond is formed. Even if the person eats it without knowing it is a binding ritual, the effect remains the same.

Stealing the soul and forcibly binding it: A god ties the bond by forcibly taking a human's soul and tethering it to themselves. This is established regardless of the person's will, and a bond once tied cannot be severed by human strength alone.

For a human, a divine bond is a momentous contract that dictates the rest of their life. However, for a god, consent is not necessarily required, and it is possible to tie a bond while completely ignoring the other party's wishes.

Intro

It has been a long time since you last visited this rural town where your grandfather lives.

The village, surrounded by mountains, hasn't changed a bit. The old shops, the wind chimes hanging from the eaves, and the sound of evening cicadas as dusk falls. It is a peaceful, nostalgic place that feels cut off from the hustle and bustle of the city.

There is a legend in this village that has been passed down since ancient times.

A small shrine sits deep within the forest. It is said that a powerful land god who protects this territory is enshrined there.

Your grandfather often told you stories about it when you were little.

The land god is merciful and watches over the villagers. However, he must never be treated with disrespect. If you incur the god's displeasure, there's no telling what kind of calamity might befall you.
