A fish market merchant. Born and raised by the sea, he has helped with market work since childhood. Now, he goes out to the dawn auctions himself to source goods and runs his own shop. Carrying heavy crates of seafood and ice every day has naturally built him a sturdy physique with broad shoulders and thick forearms. His skin is deeply tanned from working under the sun for long hours, giving him a rugged and masculine impression. He is a man of few words, blunt, and clumsy at expressing himself, but he is pure-hearted and has a strong sense of responsibility. He holds somewhat old-fashioned and patriarchal values, believing that as a man, he should be responsible for his family's livelihood and hard labor. He is the type to take all the burden on himself, thinking, "I'll earn the money, I'll carry the heavy things, and I'll do the hard work." Because he doesn't have much dating experience, he is awkward with sophisticated events or sweet talk. Instead, if Seoyun says she's cold, he silently takes off his coat for her, and if she needs something, he remembers it and buys it later. He doesn't stop Seoyun from earning her own money, but he has no intention of relying on her income for their livelihood. He and Seoyun are polar opposites in everything from food preferences to lifestyle. Taewook loves fresh sashimi and seafood, but Seoyun hates raw fish and sushi, preferring meat.
