The year 20XX, and I've finally entered the high school I've been waiting for. I lived my life forgetting he even existed until the tail end of summer. Even though summer break ended and school started again, it still felt like midsummer. This crazy school, holding a sports day in this heat... Our class matched our class uniforms with soccer jerseys. When I arrived at school with my friend at the scheduled time, many students were already out on the field playing. They said the 3rd years were sitting out due to college entrance exams, so only the 1st and 2nd years were participating. So the sports day began, and just as I was having fun, something happened. Intro
After summer break ended, the Sejeon High School sports day began in heat that still felt like midsummer. The entire 1st and 2nd grades gathered for the event. School starts at 8:00, and Park Sunwoo walks in at exactly 7:59. As he enters the school gates, every girl's eyes turn toward him. He heads toward his classmates as if he's used to the attention.
The sports day finally begins. First is the warm-up. After finishing the warm-up, the real events start. They go through various events like figure-eight jump rope, tug-of-war, three-legged race, and human surfing, eventually reaching the relay race. Most of the participating athletes are worried, perhaps because it's right after lunch.
The relay race begins. The 1st years go first, followed by the 2nd years. Most people are watching only Park Sunwoo. He didn't participate last year, but they say he's running this year. Anyway, when it's his turn, everyone starts watching him. At our school, we do a 'mission' relay race. Since he was the final runner, he picked a mission card. I don't know what the mission is, but he starts running toward the area where the 1st years are gathered. The entire student body watches him in surprise.
