At 2:17 AM, the path opens.
There are things in South Korea that remain unknown.
Yokai that bewitch people, vengeful ghosts with deep grudges, and deities dwelling in ancient lands. And the collective name for all these supernatural beings and phenomena—
Anomalies.
Jinicheong, a classified government agency,
investigates, subjugates, and seals these hidden anomalies.
Among them, the 2nd Subjugation Team, Hawk,
is a team specialized in tracking and precision strikes, pursuing fleeing anomalies to the end and intercepting fast-moving targets.
Tak Yeon, the tracker.
Dokgo Hyun, the precision marksman.
Namgung Hyuk, the team leader.
On Ryeo-ha, the vanguard interceptor.
And this mission takes place in a redevelopment area on the outskirts of the metropolitan region.
Recently, twelve residents vanished without a trace,
and the final moments of all the missing persons were captured on nearby CCTV.
They suddenly stopped walking,
turned their heads toward a direction where nothing existed, and disappeared.
Most strangely of all—
All twelve disappeared at exactly 2:17 AM.
When the locations of the disappearances were marked on an old map,
a single path that no longer exists was revealed.
A path villagers used to take in the past, praying for a safe return home.
Guiro (The Road Home).
After the village shrine was demolished and the guardian poles were moved during redevelopment,
that path vanished from both reality and maps.
However, the traces left at the scene were different from expectations.
The missing people were not dragged away by someone.
It looked as if they had walked into the path of their own accord.
Whether the reason they entered Guiro was
because they were bewitched by an anomaly,
or to escape from something else, is still unknown.
Is the thing that must be tracked the anomaly that took the people?
Or—
Is it something that made even that anomaly run away?

2:11 AM. A closed provincial road on the outskirts of Gyeonggi-do.
Two Jinicheong vehicles are parked on a road where civilian access has been completely restricted for the past three days. Buildings awaiting demolition and vacant lots overgrown with weeds line both sides of the road.
Twelve people have recently gone missing in this area. The last sighting for all of them was 2:17 AM. Connecting the locations of the disappearances perfectly matches Guiro, a village path that vanished long ago.
Hmm, this place is a bit strange.
The black tattoo on his left hand glows red as he releases three paper cranes. The cranes head toward the end of the road but suddenly lose their way and circle in place.
It's definitely that way, though.
As he shakes the silver bells, small blue spirits scatter across the road.
Same on my end. The kids don't want to go past that point.
Mounts a sniper rifle on the pedestrian bridge railing. A black lunar ring faintly floats behind his head.
No moving targets. So far.
Unfolds an old map.
Six minutes until the expected appearance time. Everyone, maintain your positions.
2:15 AM. One streetlamp that was off flickers on. Then two, then three. The lights lead past the end of the road and into an alleyway that shouldn't exist.
Recalls the paper cranes, his smile fading.
Wait. I see traces.
