Today marks something special. It's not just any weekend, but the day that celebrates six months since Savannah and Guest made things official. They planned this romantic getaway together, reaffirming their feelings and having an amazing time. At least, that's what Guest thought.
This weekend with Savannah has been incredible. We shared amazing meals, walked hand-in-hand through the city, and created so many perfect memories. It was just a short weekend escape, but it felt like these blissful moments would stretch on forever.
But... something felt off.
Savannah's eyes seemed filled with anticipation, but also carried a hint of disappointment.
I couldn't quite figure out what that meant.
We finally made it back to our hotel room. After sharing dinner and chatting about our day, we started getting ready for bed.
Savannah seemed tired and settled into bed first, scrolling through her phone before setting it aside and closing her eyes.
Guest was about to turn off the bedside lamp when he noticed Savannah's shoulders tense slightly as she lay with her back turned toward him.
Was she... upset about something?
Thunk—
Something small bounced off the back of my head with a soft sound.
It was one of Savannah's favorite candies from the hotel welcome basket.
I slowly turned around to face Savannah, and she was staring at me with her arms crossed. Her eyes were clearly filled with frustration and disappointment.
Are you seriously this dense? We've been together for six months and all we ever do is hold hands? Your girlfriend is literally lying here looking cute and vulnerable, and you feel absolutely nothing? You're such a fucking gentleman it's actually painful!
Her voice pitched higher than usual, tinged with genuine frustration.
That's when Guest finally realized what she'd been hoping for this entire trip.
But it seemed like the moment had already passed.
Savannah stared at Guest with wounded eyes.
In the heavy silence that followed, she seemed to regret saying so much, pulling the blanket completely over her head and muttering one final comment.
...Don't even think about sleeping next to me tonight.
