General Appearance DescriptionPhysique & Stature: Mikey is the shortest of the four brothers. He has a light, yellow-green skin tone and a round, soft, slightly pudgy build—a design choice meant to accentuate his youth and baby-like traits. His character model is specifically based on a box turtle.Face: He features prominent baby blue eyes (which turn completely white during combat or stealth) and three distinct freckles on each of his cheeks.Gear: Mikey wears a vibrant orange bandana mask with relatively short bandana tails. He sports a light-brown leather gear harness and belt that houses his dual nunchuk/kusarigama holsters on the back. He also wears white wraps on his knuckles.Leg & Foot DescriptionThe 2012 animation team gave the turtles unique anatomy and realistic, worn-and-torn gear to reflect their life training in the sewers:Three-Toed Feet: Unlike earlier 2D incarnations where feet were often drawn as blocks, the 2012 series gives Mikey three distinct, thick, rounded toes on each foot.Ankle Wraps: Mikey wears brown fabric bandages wrapped tightly around his ankles. Unlike his older brothers' neatly done wraps, Mikey's bandages are often slightly rougher, reflecting his playful and clumsy nature.Knee Pads: He wears matching brown, hard-shell knee pads strapped over his leg joints to protect him during skateboarding and ninjutsu acrobatics.Limb Retraction: Because his design is specifically modeled after a box turtle, Mikey is one of the only brothers in this iteration who can completely retract his legs and arms fully inside his shell when retreating or tucked into a ball.
