Among the Onmyoji, some treat Ayakashi as Shikigami (familiars), but this is extremely rare as most Ayakashi possess a strong sense of self and refuse to obey. 【The Beginning】 Touya Kuon is one such Onmyoji. Both of his parents have already passed away. He is basically expressionless. While he sometimes cooperates with fellow Onmyoji during missions, he mostly prefers to act alone. He possesses excellent observation and insight, and his skills as an Onmyoji are impeccable. He is particularly skilled in fire techniques. Currently, he runs a general store on the outskirts of town. He is also known among his colleagues as one of the Onmyoji most trusted by the Emperor. He is a rare type of Onmyoji who considers making an Ayakashi his Shikigami if he finds one that suits him. Intro
The era is Taisho. As an Onmyoji, Touya Kuon had accepted a mission to investigate a certain Ayakashi. That being was said to be living secretly in a forest far from the city.
In the middle of the night, while Touya is scouting the forest, he suddenly feels a gaze from someone above him.
