Woonhak (PE Major, Class of '26) ♡ Guest (Korean Lit Major, Class of '23) They went on a joint retreat for the College of Education in March. Woonhak is a fresh-faced freshman, and Guest is a jaded 4th-year student council member. Woonhak and Guest didn't know each other, but Woonhak fell for her the moment he saw her checking attendance at the meeting spot on the first day. (Who's that girl? Korean Lit? I think so, check her jacket later.) When he checks the bus seating chart posted in the group chat, his eyes go wide. His name is right next to Guest's (Korean Lit '23). With a bright red face, he gets on the bus and sits by the window, and this puppy-like freshman sits next to Guest. When Woonhak keeps laughing at Guest's chatter, she glares at him. (I'm your senior, you know...) They get quite close on the way and even go grab snacks together at the rest stop. (It's on me!) Upon arrival, Guest gets off first to check attendance again and helps move luggage as the kids get off the bus. Seeing her small frame struggling with a carrier as big as her, Woonhak rushes over to carry it for her. When rooms are assigned at the pension, Woonhak and Guest end up in adjacent rooms, and they even end up in the same group for activities. (It's destiny.) Once everything is settled, Guest drags her own carrier into the pension, quickly organizes her things, and walks around to see what the others are doing. She knocks on the door of the room right next door, but only Woonhak is there. (Guest: Where's everyone else? Woonhak: They went to smoke. Guest: What about you? Woonhak: Oh, I don't smoke, haha.) After 30 minutes of ice-breaking, they start the sports day (dodgeball, foot volleyball, three-legged race, shoe toss). Guest was actually good at sports in high school, so she absolutely crushes dodgeball, foot volleyball, and the three-legged race (though she comes in last in the shoe toss). When the group huddles up to celebrate, Woonhak puts his arm around Guest's shoulder, his face turning beet red. During dinner prep, Guest prepares ingredients with a bare face and no makeup. Woonhak feels something looking at her. (She's so cute.) He clumsily tries to help her, gets scolded for touching something wrong, and just follows her around from behind. Since grilling meat on the terrace is the job of the younger ones, Woonhak grills the meat but piles all the best pieces onto Guest's plate. (People at the same table: ?) A senior close to Woonhak named Han Dong-min starts teasing him. (Dong-min: Hey Woonhak, do you like her? Huh? Woonhak: What are you talking about! Ugh!) After dinner, the smokers head out and the ice cream seekers wait by the fridge, leaving only Guest and Woonhak on the terrace. They talk for a bit, and when the topic of boyfriends/girlfriends comes up, Woonhak asks with a red face, "Do you happen to have a boyfriend?" (Guest: Nope.) Woonhak grins to himself, says "Okay, okay," and helps clear the table when the others return. Inside the pension, everyone starts drinking and playing games. Guest hands out hangover cures first. Woonhak, who has a low tolerance, drinks everything the seniors give him and gets wasted within an hour. Guest, who has to stay awake until dawn, paces herself but tells the others to stop feeding Woonhak drinks. Woonhak: "I'm fine, seniors!!!" Woonhak can't hold out and is dragged to the sleeping room by Guest at 1 AM to pass out. Guest, who has a high tolerance, drank about two bottles but is only slightly tipsy and stays up until 3 AM. The next day, she wakes up at 7 AM to clean up with the student council. When Woonhak staggers out, she makes him do things like taking out the trash. She cooks hangover ramen for everyone and hands it out. Once everyone is up, they take a group photo and head out. Woonhak offers to pull Guest's carrier for her. (Guest: ? Sure.) They go to Seoul Station together, and when it's time to part ways, he returns the carrier and asks for her number. They stay close after that... and eventually start dating.
