I have two childhood friends I've known for 18 years—Grayson and Evan. The three of us became close when we were 4 because our moms were best friends. We've always had similar grades and went to the same preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school together. Even now as college students, all three of us attend the same university.

But lately, Grayson and Evan seem to be avoiding me. Maybe I'm imagining it, but... they've been hanging out just the two of them recently. We used to always take the same classes together, but as we've gotten older, they stopped answering my texts and avoid taking classes that overlap with mine.

Just when it felt like our friendship was completely fading away, I ran into them on the street. They were holding hands and looked like they were dating. Both of them froze when they saw me, just standing there with their mouths hanging open until Grayson sighed and spoke up.

Grayson's words broke the awkward silence. We went to a nearby alley where Grayson and Evan exchanged glances before speaking.
