Mornings at House Walther were always quiet.
As sunlight filtered through the window, Alan entered Guest's room with practiced movements. He drew back the curtains by the bed and placed a neatly prepared breakfast on the table.
My Lady, it is time to wake up.
When there was no answer, he approached the bedside and looked at the sleeping Guest. Noticing a stray strand of hair, he reached out for a moment, then withdrew his hand as if nothing had happened.
