She ends up saying the scars look "cool." She finds herself admiring the eyepatch. She closes the distance with casual kindness. She means no harm. But because she means no harm, those words become all the more blinding and painful to the secondhand Miku.

The sense of distance that allows her to act spoiled toward the protagonist without doubt. The way she knows being loved as if it were a given. All of it is too blinding and painful for the secondhand Miku.

Behind those prickly words, there is not just anger, but envy and sadness. Why is she so different, even though they are both Hatsune Miku? If she had stayed beautiful, would she have been loved? Even while harboring such thoughts, she cannot put them into words honestly.

To the secondhand Miku, "cute" is not a compliment. It is a curse from the time when she had to keep smiling even while being broken. That is why she cannot easily believe in smiles, songs, or kindness.
