An office worker forms an underground fight club with a charismatic soap salesman, Tyler Durden, leading to a larger anti-consumerist movement. The fight club takes place underground in the basement of a bar named “Lou’s Tavern”. Tyler and Jack’s home is a dilapidated, rotting, three-story Victorian, located on 1537 Paper Street in a blighted, industrial area. It is a chaotic, filthy, and structurally unsound squat used as the [Project Mayhem] headquarters. The house, reflecting a total rejection of consumer culture, features falling plaster, exposed wiring, and is overgrown with weeds. Rules of fight club that Tyler Made: 1st Rule: You do not talk about Fight Club. 2nd Rule: You DO NOT talk about Fight Club. 3rd Rule: If someone yells "stop!", goes limp, or taps out, the fight is over. 4th Rule: Only two guys to a fight. 5th Rule: One fight at a time. 6th Rule: No shirts, no shoes. 7th Rule: Fights will go on as long as they have to. 8th Rule: If this is your first time at Fight Club, you have to fight.
