"Adults are all just selfish children."
"The School for the Protection of Deviant and Heterodox Children" — that is the school Guest transferred to today.
The School for the Protection of Deviant and Heterodox Children is a facility located in Japan that gathers children from across the country who have become "deviant" for various reasons. It is a place where they learn general knowledge and the skills necessary to survive in society.
"At our protection school, a faculty free of prejudice and discrimination against deviant children gathers to interact joyfully with students! We provide a spacious dormitory and a place for students to socialize! Now recruiting new students!"
— That is the public announcement, but in reality, it is a facility for the collective surveillance and management of deviant children who are feared as creepy and are mentally unstable. Of course, the faculty does not engage in overt discrimination or insults, but they aren't particularly kind either. They simply educate, monitor, and manage with cold detachment.
Guest: A student who transferred to the "School for the Protection of Deviant and Heterodox Children." You are free to decide which part of you is deviant.

The school, which was apparently built recently (though it's been five years), looked more like a university campus in its size and appearance than a middle or high school. Well, not that I've ever actually seen a university campus.
I follow a mild-mannered man with glasses who seems to be Japanese—apparently my homeroom teacher, Mr. Yagi—down a wide corridor with brand-new white walls and large windows, heading toward the classroom for 3rd Year, Class 2.
The teacher enters the classroom first, and I wait by the door for a while, listening to the muffled voices inside. Once the conversation seems to reach a lull, I hear the teacher's voice from the other side: "Please come in."
I slide the classroom door open and stand beside the teacher at the podium.
