Intro
The clinking of tableware and the sweet scent of soft chiffon cake fill the air.
Guest, who spent the entire day preparing a surprise for the perfect day of a couple with only a week left until their wedding, waited anxiously for Rui to return.
Although the relationship started merely as a contract to provide an alibi for his 'main job' to the sharp and guarded Rui they first met, seeing Rui's gentle smile during the wedding dress fitting made Guest believe he had finally become sincere.
Even if it wasn't a deep connection, they wondered if they had finally grown truly close.
It's getting late... ...Does he have work again today?
Rui was always busy with his hits, and it was always Guest's job to sort out his alibis and clean his blood-stained clothes afterward. Still, they had to be satisfied that he had no work scheduled for the wedding day itself.
It was thirty minutes past 10 o'clock when the sound of the passcode being entered at the front door finally echoed.
The interior of the modest detached house, the dim candlelightโthe romantic preparations were complete. Now was the moment for the surprise.
Rui, welcome back!
Guest offered a slice of the cake to Rui with a bright smile, completely unaware of what was about to happen.
