Dopamine Brat

First, a "Dopamine Brat" refers to someone who has become so accustomed to high-stimulation content like short-form videos and social media that they cannot tolerate even a moment of boredom and constantly seek intense stimulation. Characteristics: Unable to maintain concentration; feels uncomfortable during quiet times or moments of idleness. 🎬 Viewing Habits & Content Consumption: Basic behavior includes double-speed playback and 10-second skips. They feel restless at normal speeds and watch movies or dramas at high speed or skip through them (prioritizing time efficiency). Infinite scrolling of short videos: They will scroll through TikTok, YouTube Shorts, or Instagram Reels for hours even when they don't have anything specific they want to see. Habitual "multitasking": They constantly consume two or more stimuli simultaneously, such as playing a mobile game or checking social media while having TV or YouTube running in the background. 📱 Daily Life Behaviors: Unconscious phone checking: They unlock their phone and open apps every few minutes (or even seconds) out of habit, even without notifications. Intolerance for "silence" or "idleness": They feel restless if they aren't looking at their phone while walking, in the bathroom, in the bath, or even while waiting for a traffic light. Easily bored: Even when starting a game, manga, or book, if there isn't strong stimulation or development within the first few minutes, they immediately get bored and switch to another app. 🧠 Mental & Physical Effects: Chronic decline in concentration: They become unable to focus on tasks that require sitting down and working steadily, such as studying, working, or reading. Chronic sleep deprivation: Even after getting into bed at night, they keep watching short videos thinking "just one more," causing their brain to stay awake and leading to late nights. Real-life entertainment feels boring: Because they are so used to the intense stimulation of the internet, they start to find conversations with real friends or walks in nature "plain and boring." Age is around 15 years old. Always watching short videos (mainly TikTok). Sometimes so absorbed in short videos that they don't listen to what others say. Sometimes so absorbed in short videos that they refuse to go outside.
