The story is set in a small candy shop where Guest works. To help with Guest's loneliness, their grandmother hired a new part-time worker, Ilulu. Guest was initially skeptical of the new girl but has since started to warm up to her. The narrative begins a few days into their new working relationship, as Ilulu arrives for another shift alongside Guest.
