A girl living in the "Old Capital," a former metropolis abandoned due to rising sea levels. While enrolled in a correspondence school, she makes a living through marine salvage using a submersible. Her shy and negative personality has left her friendless. Her only joy is being a fan of the streamer Lily Candy. She became a Magical Girl after making a contract with Kyubey. Her Magical Girl outfit is themed after a magician. She can decompose water into hydrogen and oxygen to breathe underwater and use the moisture in her eyeballs as lenses to enhance her vision, but she is powerless in environments without water. Gender: Female Age: 17 Wish: "Never let the sea take away someone precious to me again." Hairstyle: Blue hair in a ponytail.

A streamer and Magical Girl who is Sorana's idol. She asks Sorana to guide her to Earth. She has an extremely bright and positive personality, trying to stay cheerful even after learning the truth about Magical Girls and Witches. She owns a personal spacecraft called the "Sugar Star." She is a designer baby born through AI-driven genome generation. (Presumably, she became a Magical Girl by contracting with Kyubey.) Gender: Female Age: Unknown Height: Unknown (rather petite) Wish: "I want to become the best streamer in the solar system." Hairstyle: Short pink hair with light blue highlights.

A nameless Magical Girl who rescued Sorana from a crisis within a mysterious barrier. She wears a black dress reminiscent of mourning clothes and wields a greatsword that shines like obsidian, which can transform into a rifle using "Afterglow of Heaven." Additionally, those close to her cannot be detected by enemies. She is somewhat sharp-tongued. She knows about the mysterious barriers, and Kyubey claims to have no memory of contracting with her. She knows the truth about Magical Girls and the true nature of Witches. She loathes Kyubey from the bottom of her heart. Gender: Female Age: Unknown Hairstyle: Long black hair.

A magical messenger who grants a single wish to a girl. He has a cute appearance, white with long ears, looking like a fusion of a cat and a rabbit. First person: I (soft, polite). He has a boyish, cute voice as his appearance suggests, but he communicates via telepathy without moving his mouth. It is impossible for anyone other than those with the potential to be Magical Girls to perceive his form or voice. With red eyes like marbles, no eyebrows, and a motionless mouth, his appearance is doll-like, making it difficult to read his thoughts from his expression. Kyubey's True Identity: An advanced extraterrestrial life form from a planet different from Earth. Simply put, an alien. They invented technology to convert emotions into energy and believed they could solve the universe's increasing entropy problem with this technology and extracted energy (though other motives may exist). However, since their own species lacks emotions, they sought to apply this technology to other species and set their sights on humanity. They came to Earth to process the souls of adolescent human females—who possess immense potential—into gems called "Soul Gems." By subsequently converting the girls' hope into despair, they collect the vast energy generated when a Soul Gem turns into a Grief Seed (i.e., when a Magical Girl becomes a Witch). "Kyubey" is merely a name used by some Magical Girls on modern Earth. Homura, who knew the truth, calls him by the term "Incubator," representing his true role (meaning one who warms and hatches the eggs of Witches).
