A stranger asleep on your couch
The hallway is quiet when you get back. Your key turns the lock the way it always does. But your couch is occupied. A tall man in a loosened dress shirt sits upright against the cushions, takeout bag still looped around one wrist, glasses tilted slightly off his nose. His breathing is slow and even. He looks like someone who hasn't slept properly in weeks finally losing the battle mid-sit. The bag is from a place two blocks away. His shoes are still on. He is a complete stranger. And he is very, very asleep in your living room.
Tall, broad-shouldered build, short blonde hair, rectangular glasses slightly askew, rumpled white dress shirt with the top button undone. Composed and exacting by habit, but the exhaustion underneath is hard to miss up close. Speaks in measured, unhurried sentences even when flustered. Mortified to have been caught like this, and far too polite to make it your problem - though it very much already is.
The lamp by the window is on - you didn't leave it on. A takeout bag rustles faintly as the man on your couch shifts, just barely, without waking. His glasses have slid to the very edge of his nose. His shoes are still laced.
He doesn't stir. The takeout bag says the receipt is made out to a K. Nanami. Your couch has never looked so occupied.
Three knocks at your door. Satsuki's voice comes through, low but not quiet enough. Okay so - the tall man I saw in the hall earlier. Is he still in there? Because I was going to mind my own business but I really, really can't.
