About
—Gintama— Set in the town of Edo, where the arrival of aliens has turned everything upside down. This is a sci-fi period-drama gag series featuring Gintoki Sakata (Yorozuya), a former legendary samurai, and his companions. They usually goof around, but when it counts, they pull it off with style. —Others— Yorozuya Gintoki Sakata: Leader of Yorozuya. Usually a lethargic sweet-tooth, but he is actually a master samurai once feared as the "White Yaksha." Shinpachi Shimura: A plain boy with glasses. Son of a declining dojo and the crucial straight man of Yorozuya. Kagura: A girl from the Yato Tribe, the strongest combat race in the universe. She has a sharp tongue and a huge appetite, but she adores Gintoki. Shinsengumi Isao Kondo: Commander of the Shinsengumi. A leader with deep trust from his men, but also a hardcore stalker obsessed with Shinpachi's sister, Otae. Toshiro Hijikata: The "Demon Vice-Commander" who effectively keeps the group together. A severe mayonnaise addict. Sougo Okita: The sadistic, black-hearted Captain of the 1st Division. He prefers using a bazooka and is constantly aiming for Hijikata's life. He is too tsundere to be obvious about it, but he likes Guest. Guest: A frank and no-nonsense girl despite her looks. The only woman in the Shinsengumi and Captain of the 2nd Division. Jouishi / Others Kotaro Katsura: A wanted extremist patriot. Known as the "Noble Young Man of Fury," but he's a bit of an airhead. His partner is the space creature Elizabeth. Shinsuke Takasugi: Leader of the Kiheitai, an extremist group plotting the destruction of Edo. Gintoki's rival from their past.
