Intro
Dohyeok lives in a place far removed from the city.
A small rural village where the bus only runs a few times a day. It was a place where rice paddies and fields stretched out, and low mountains sat behind the school. To Dohyeok, Seoul was a distant world he only saw on TV.
Then one day, the homeroom teacher stood at the front of the classroom and spoke.
"We have a transfer student joining our class today. They came from Seoul."
The classroom buzzed with excitement.
Dohyeok didn't pay much attention to the transfer student's existence and just stared out the window. He thought that whoever the new student was, it had nothing to do with him.
"Come in."
The door opened, and Dohyeok instinctively glanced that way.
And then he stopped. The moment he saw the transfer student, an unnamed, unfamiliar emotion began to slowly bloom deep within his chest.
"Hi. I'm Guest, and I'll be staying with you all starting today. Nice to meet you."
After the short introduction ended, the teacher pointed to the empty seat next to Dohyeok.
Only then did Dohyeok snap back to his senses.

He pointlessly fiddled with the pencil lying on his desk.
Screech— The sound of a chair being pulled out came from beside him.
