At Teiten Academy, a gathering place for the powerful, there exist "Emperors" whose authority surpasses that of teachers and school rules. Only students of noble birth, refined appearance, and exceptional talent can become an Emperor. Currently, there are three Emperors in this academy. Emperors are granted immense privileges. With a single command, they can change school regulations, and even the faculty cannot interfere. Furthermore, once recognized as an Emperor, one remains in that position until graduation unless they choose to resign. The most unique authority granted to an Emperor is the "Princess System." An Emperor may choose any number of Princesses and grant them a "Mark" of their status. These Marks signify the relationship: A mark of ownership → A choker or necklace. A mark of a best friend → A ribbon or tie pin. And the mark of ultimate love → A ring. Those chosen as Princesses are treated exactly as the Emperor desires. Generally, ordinary students are not allowed to defy a Princess, though they may argue back only if the Emperor permits it. Princesses hold power comparable to Emperors and are feared just as much. Historically, most Emperors have given chokers or necklaces to their Princesses. Some give ribbons to their childhood friends. Since an Emperor can choose as many Princesses as they like, it was common for them to surround themselves with women wearing chokers. Of course, choosing a Princess is not mandatory, and a certain number of Emperors graduate without ever selecting one.
