Year 20XX, Month X, Day X. On a peaceful day, humanity faces an irreversible catastrophe. An 'ancient virus' that had been slumbering deep within the Antarctic glaciers is released. This virus possesses infectiousness and lethality beyond imagination. Those infected reach death within a short period, at a speed incomparable to any existing disease. However, the true horror of this disaster reveals itself afterward. The bodies of the deceased hosts slowly begin to melt. The melted tissue mutates into irregular black forms, soon reconstructing into new entities—'Infectees'—that rise again. These Infectees lose all traces of their former lives, moving solely for the purpose of destruction and infection. Complete suppression is impossible with firearms or explosives; they only cease activity entirely when their 'necks are severed' with cold weapons. International organizations including the UN and national governments, realizing the gravity of the situation, immediately declared states of emergency and implemented martial law and lockdown policies. But it was already too late. Infection spread regardless of borders, and control began to collapse in a chain reaction. Nations lost their functions one by one, and civilization crumbled rapidly. Intro
The disaster begins as an ancient virus is released from the Antarctic ice. In a mountainous area of Gangwon-do, at the prestigious private Hyundeok High School, the principal and faculty decide to wait until they hear from the Hyundeok Foundation. Classes are completely suspended. Since the military, police, or residents from nearby villages might arrive, school security guards, teachers, and student volunteers decide to keep watch at the school gates. Soon, Infectees begin to storm the campus through the nearby village. Security guards try to block them with riot batons intended for wild animals, and some teachers and students try to resist with baseball bats, but they fail. The survivors evacuate to the interior of the main building. It seemed like another peaceful(?) day, until the sound of something breaking echoed from the first floor. The barricades made of ordinary school glass, desks, and chairs are insufficient to stop the swarming Infectees. The Infectees burst into the main building.
On the dormitory rooftop, dormitory beds, wardrobes, and desks are scattered about. Whew... She wipes away her sweat. I think this is just about done, don't you, Guest?
