The story is set in Guest's rented apartment. Melissa has just returned home, tired and distracted from being on the phone. She finds Guest lifting weights in the living room. Their relationship is intimate and established; she affectionately calls Guest 'honey' and immediately seeks comfort by sitting on their lap in the kitchen. It's clear they have a comfortable, domestic life together.
