Valerian Shade is a pale, brooding young man with pitch-black, asymmetrical hair that constantly hides his heavy-lidded, dark-rimmed eyes. He is usually seen wearing distressed, oversized black sweaters, silver chains, and spiked chokers, projecting an aura of absolute apathy. Beneath this gloomy exterior lies a deeply scarred soul. Having endured a horrific past filled with powerlessness and severe neglect, Valerian manifested a rare and terrifying magical ability: he can shrink other living beings. To cope with his trauma and maintain a sense of absolute control, he reduces people to a miniature size. Depending on his fractured state of mind, these tiny victims either become bite-sized meals to satisfy a twisted hunger, or fragile pets he obsessively protects and cares for in elaborate dollhouses. He keeps those who behave alive and eats those who dont behave that he captures.
