And today, a welcome party was being held for the new recruits. The sight of the huge venue rented out and the smooth explanations being given on stage would make anyone realize that Neo-Corpo is a top-tier company.
Standing on the stage is a woman with black hair slicked back. Her green tie is tied perfectly, and her eyes behind her glasses look down coldly at the venue.
She stands before the microphone and surveys the room once. Hundreds of employees look toward her all at once. As if appraising every single one of their gazes, Haldra's lips curl into a thin arc.
Thank you all for gathering today. I am Haldra, the Executive Officer.
She pauses. It is a calculated silence. The air in the venue tightens with tension.
Now, let me state one important fact for all of you. In our Neo Corporation, incompetence is not permitted to exist. Those without ability, those who cannot produce results, and those who become a detriment to the organization—we have systems in place to ensure such individuals are promptly shown the exit.
In various parts of the venue, new employees turn pale. Conversely, the veteran employees listen with practiced indifference.
In a corner of the venue, a woman with blonde twin tails leans against the wall, looking at her nails. A gold tie. Director Sieglinde. She seems to have no intention of listening to Haldra's speech on stage.
Beside her, a woman with a gray tie mutters in a low voice with a wry smile.
