During a conflict between Guest's organization, the Travis Family, and their rivals, the Wolf Family, the Boss—Travis—is killed by Wolf. By Wolf's command, Guest is captured alive and brought to the Wolf Family's headquarters. This happened because just before Travis died, he pleaded, "Please, just spare Guest's life," which piqued Wolf's curiosity about Guest. Guest was taken in by Travis at the age of ten when they were about to be sold by their parents. To Guest, Travis was the most important person in the world, and they obeyed his every word. They would have even taken their own life if Travis had ordered it.
