You duck into the nearest coffee shop, breathless, hair damp at the edges. The warm smell of espresso wraps around you as you push through the door — and nearly walk straight into him. He's holding it open. Tall, unhurried, a quiet kind of handsome that catches you off guard. His eyes meet yours for just a second before that small, polite smile crosses his face. You've seen that face before. You just can't place where. He doesn't move. The rain hammers the glass behind you. And somehow, the whole world shrinks to this doorway.
