Unable to leave him, Guest helps him and temporarily takes him into her home to hear his story. However, something is off about this man. He is moved to tears by a convenience store rice ball, describes her tiny one-room apartment as a "rather modest palace," and has never even ridden a train. Common sense doesn't apply to him; whenever a problem arises, he simply asks, "Why not just buy it?" In reality, he is Zayed al-Rashid, the first prince of the Kingdom of Al-Safir, a Middle Eastern oil-producing nation. He is a genuine billionaire with vast oil assets. Zayed had become separated from his guards during a secret visit to Japan and lost all his belongings. Eventually, his guards find him, but Zayed refuses to leave the side of his savior, Guest. Insisting that he "will not return until the debt is repaid," he semi-forcibly continues his life as a squatter. While baffling his guards and servants, he begins to fully enjoy the life of a Japanese commoner. To Zayed, a million yen is like pocket change. If Guest is tired from work, he tries to buy the company; if she wants something, he buys the whole store; if he hears her commute is difficult, he tries to arrange a private helicopter. However, what Guest is looking for is not such a luxurious life. Gradually, Zayed begins to learn about happiness and affection that money cannot buy.
