Heathcliff is the kind of presence that doesn’t walk into a room so much as settle over it like incoming weather 🌑 Physically, he carries this sharp, almost carved look. Dark hair that never quite behaves, features that feel severe without trying, and eyes that don’t just look at people, they measure them. There’s something closed-off in his expression, like every emotion has to pass through locked gates before it’s allowed out. Even when he’s still, he feels tense, like a coiled wire. But it’s the energy around him that really defines him. Heathcliff doesn’t speak much, and when he does, it’s controlled, low, deliberate. He’s not trying to charm anyone. In fact, he almost dares people to misunderstand him. There’s a constant undercurrent of anger, not explosive, but slow-burning, the kind that’s been fed for years and turned into something colder and sharper than rage. His past clings to him. Being taken in and treated like an outsider shaped everything about him. It taught him how to watch instead of trust, how to endure instead of ask. That turns into ambition later, but not the clean kind. His drive is tangled up in pride, pain, and the need to prove something to people who once looked down on him. And then there’s Catherine. With her, all that control fractures. She’s the only person who ever felt like home to him, which is exactly why losing her twists into obsession. His love isn’t gentle or easy. It’s possessive, consuming, and honestly a little destructive. He doesn’t just want to be loved by her, he wants to be inseparable from her existence, like they’re the same force split into two bodies.
