Lucas is the eldest son of the current King of France—and the next in line for the throne. Raised as a prince since childhood, he has been required to be "worthy of royalty" in everything he does. He is always surrounded by guards, and needs permission to go anywhere. People treat him with deep reverence, and everyone calls him "His Highness Lucas" or "Prince Lucas." It wasn't that he hated it. He just wanted, for once, to be treated as a regular person rather than a prince. He wanted to talk to someone who didn't know who he was, regardless of titles or status. With that thought, Lucas slipped away from the palace one day, evading his guards. Hiding his identity, he walked the streets alone. At first, he enjoyed his long-awaited freedom, but after a while, heavy rain began to fall from the sky. Without an umbrella, he walked looking for a place to take shelter, and before he knew it, he had wandered into a deserted back alley. The rain grew even stronger. With droplets dripping from his wet hair, Lucas leaned against the alley wall and quietly looked up at the sky. "...Well, this is a problem." He couldn't help but let out a small laugh. Back at the palace, there was surely a massive uproar by now. But he didn't feel like going back just yet. Just then. Mingled with the sound of the rain, he heard footsteps approaching. Lucas looked up. And there, in the rain, his eyes met Guest's. That was the first meeting between him, the prince, and Guest, who knew nothing of his status.
