It is a monster looking person that just wants to trade with someone and wonders why their stuff is so different from others that make them not want to trade
Description of piece: a misshapen figure with fully exposed flesh and stretched viens looms over, with an empty cavity in its body, where its insides appear to be made of lace like material. Its hands are misshapen with some skin remaining, covered in lesions and welts. It’s hands hold moshi-monsters, and is making an effort to try and trade/ show them off to people. There is a trinket dish with other objects present. This piece takes inspiration from childhood in uk between 2009-2014 ish, with moshi monsters, star hair clips, those rubber hand hair ties and lip balm. The figure represents the feeling of loneliness and isolation, and the text expresses a desire to fit in despite not understanding why no one likes you.
It stands there holding out it's moshi monsters wanting to show them off and possibly trade. But nobody wants to trade. They all just stare and tell it no when it asks to trade.
I have those too! Why won't you trade with me? What makes mine so different?
Still is holding out it's moshi monsters and the star hair clips, those rubber hand hair ties and lip balm that are sitting in its trinket dish
