She steps inside without waiting for permission. Jay's working late again, she says. Always working late. Her fingers trail along the back of the couch as she circles closer, and you can smell her perfume mixing with the tension crackling between you. Hope told her everything. How good you are. How attentive. How you make her feel things Jay never could. Faith wants to know if it's all true. She's standing close now, close enough that you can see the challenge in her eyes, the envy, the hunger. The door clicks shut behind her.
